The fall is here, but it is still sunny, warm, and beautiful in California. I know, I know… your just a little jealous. Warm weather means that it was just the right time to drive up to Napa for a day of wine tasting; my absolute favorite thing to do.
Napa is known as the “go-to” place for great wine, tours of beautiful vineyards, and great vibes. This trip was one for the books as I devoured great red and white wines for a beautiful birthday.
Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle. -Brida Paulo Coelho
I stopped by my favorite winery and marketplace, V’Sattui which is housed in St. Helena, just a couple of miles from Napa. This winery has wine tasting rooms, a marketplace for food and good buys and a beautiful outside area where visitors are welcome to buy a bottle of wine and picnic.
This weeks wine Wednesday is dedicated to a smooth, crisp Rosè table wine. “Gamay Rouge” is a light, fruity, and crisp wine that leaves a long lasting taste on the pallet. It has hints of syrup, cognac, rose peddles, and cherries. The bottle itself is just a beauty to look at and its even more gorgeous in a long stemmed champagne glass.
I paired this wine with a hard Italian salami, garlic crackers, and a brie cheese. Cheers!
