Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, & Pinotage

Lovers!! It is wine Wednesday and I am elated! I am so happy about this fine piece of red wine. This week, I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa.

Typically, red blends are not my favorite- the amount of sulfate is overwhelming. I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful-tasting this wine was. The aroma is BLAZING with dark-cherry grapes. For this one, I inhaled the aromatic notes for a couple of minutes before I indulged.

On the pallet there are deep cherry, spice, and woody notes. Slightly acidic with a soft aftertaste. Pair these with a marble chocolate and mint crunch candy bar for a optimum experience!!

Food wise, I would couple this wine with spare ribs, garlic mash, and a vinaigrette salad.
